Fellowship With The Godhead

Fellowship vs. Personal Relationship Series

Fellowship with the Holy Spirit
“Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.”
Phil. 2:1-2

We can also have fellowship with the Spirit. How? Well, let’s look quickly before we close our study of fellowship with the Godhead. We are not of flesh but of the Spirit. That the Spirit dwells in us and if any one does not have the Spirit then he does not belong to Christ (Rm. 8:9). 1 Cor. 3:16 lets us know we are the temple of God and the Spirit of God dwells in us. We are in communion with the Spirit (2 Cor. 13:14). Paul lets us know that if we have any fellowship with the Spirit that we should be like minded, having the same love, being of one accord and one mind (Phil 2:1-2).   Again the fellowship with the Spirit is dependent on one thing, us obeying God’s commands

Concluding Fellowship With The Godhead

We have a companionship, familiar interaction, sharing having or giving a share in the Kingdom with the God head and the body as we are in a cooperate partnership together in Christ Jesus that by our association together we have a mutual aim and interest. Fellowship can be conditional. It is conditional. Fellowship depends on whether or not you will continue to do your part. Your part in Christ is faithfully obeying His commands, the Word. This fellowship is contingent on one thing. We must keep His commandments. Those who keep His commandments are the only ones that God will have companionship with.

What We Have Seen

We have seen how we have fellowship with the Godhead. God wanted it to be that way from the beginning and Christ died for it happen. It’s a continual state. When we are immersed into Christ we now, by Christ, have fellowship with the Godhead. We also have fellowship with the righteous, the body. We will look into that more in the weeks to come. This fellowship is simple. We do our part. Our part is keeping his commands (1 John 5:3;  Luke 8:21; Heb. 5:9; Luke 6:46). We do this every day. It is up to us to stay in that fellowship. God is doing His part. Are you?

Special Time ?

What does it really mean when we say that we only fellowship at such and such time? Fellowship is based on us doing our part. Sunday worship and Wednesday bible class is only a portion of that. We walk as He walked (1 John 2:6). Did Christ only walk one day a week or perhaps an hour a week? No! He lived a life, an everyday life of obedience (Heb. 5:8). We are to do the same. Essentially the argument of setting aside time for fellowship means you’re only going to be obedient to God for that time. You’re only going to do His will for that one hour. What’s the point of Monday thru Saturday? Eh, do what you want. Wait a minute that’s not faithfully living. See the danger. The teaching is we only have to be obedient for that time. It also means you are only in fellowship with the Godhead at those times. That is very superficial. What we have seen in fellowshipping with the Godhead alone is much deeper and richer. I don’t think anyone has truly thought that out. The reason why is, no one who has taught this has brought the true meaning of fellowship up. Are you in fellowship with the Godhead and body every day? Or is it just a gathering of the minds once a week?

A Lot Of Information

Whew, what a lot of information! Take the time to study and look of this over. There is much to this fellowship. Perhaps we should be very careful how quick we abandoned the concept or replace it. With this information there is a lot at risk if we were to forsake this fellowship. Some may argue that it is a special meeting time or dinner. The fellowship with the Godhead along proves that to be a false thought. Perhaps it’s our fault for not teaching what fellowship really means. Yet, a personal relationship is only a bound built in the time you spend together. You are in fellowship from the time you are in Christ. As long as you walk in obedience you stay in fellowship. We will see this same concept arise as we study fellowship with the righteous and unrighteous. Please make time to continue on our journey. Till next time think about these questions.

Are you in Christ?

Are you in Fellowship with the God head?

What can you do to change or mature in that?

True Friendship

When friendship comes to my mind, I think of two relationships in Scripture. They are Jesus and John and David and Jonathan. Jonathan loved David as his soul. 1   John was the one that Jesus loved, and you can see it in the gospel of John. 2 Not because Jesus showed it so much, but by the in-depth writing, John provides you can see how close they were. John was always with Jesus. John was so close to Jesus; he leaned on the chest of Jesus and asked Christ, who would betray him at the last supper. We see the same closeness between Jonathan and David when Jonathan sought to save David, when Saul’s edict to kill David, went out. 3   These two examples are what I believe God wants with us and wants us to desire to have with Him and His body.      The mentioned examples of friendship are the friendship we find deep in the fellowship that John speaks of in 1 John 1:1-10. Godly friendship is a friendship that is not one-sided. It is a bond that is not given up for futile moment

A Little Bit of Singing & A Whole Lot of Accompaniment.

The subject of instruments and clapping in worship is an interesting one. I know this a controversial topic. I’m well aware that as a “Christian” group we do not all agree on the same opinion in the matter. I would like to bring you today not an opinion but fact on this topic. I pray that with an open heart you will read, search the scriptures for yourself and discover what God commands.  Mosaic Covenant When we examine the Mosaic covenant, we see that the music conducted was both in song and with instruments. Special assignments were given by God. This was done by God through His prophets and overseen by King David ( 1 Chron. 25:1-7; 2 Chron. 29:25-30 ).  We must keep in mind that the singers from the tribe of Levi and instruments of music were not merely authorized but that they were commanded. Even in Nehemiah we see the use of instruments. This was done according to the commandment we see in the ordinance for the restored temple services. Nehemiah says that Ezra the scrib

The Unselfish Heart and Liberal Hands

“Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need.” Acts 2:44-45 There was an old woman who lived in a home by herself.   She was able and in her right mind.   She would wake up every morning and pray.   She always prayed for everyone, even her grocery list.   She knew everything she had was a blessing from God.   The kicker here is she lived next to a faithless man. He would wake up every morning and hear this old lady pray. After some time he grew indignant with her mindless praying so he said “I’m going to get her good.”   Knowing she always prayed for her groceries he woke up early one morning and jotted her list down as she prayed. He slipped out the door and bought the best of every item.   He neatly placed them in a basket and set them at her front door. He then rang the door bell and ran. Hiding in the bushes he saw her come out and see the basket. The older woman w
