Fellowship vs. Personal Relationship Series             As we have seen in our study we have learned a great deal about Fellowship. That being said Fellowship is inclusive while a personal relationship is exclusive. A personal relationship leaves out a great deal. It carries grievous effects on our walk. A personal relationship leaves out the body (Eph. 4:4-6; 1 Cor. 12:12). It leaves out the key, Christ and His Word (Matt. 28:18-20). It fails to give you all things in common (Eph. 5:8-14; Acts 4:32; Rm. 6:1-4).   It removes what holds us together (Matt. 28:18-20; Acts 2:42; 2 Tim. 3:16-17). A personal relationship forsakes unity and doesn’t support the concept that we are all one in Christ (John 17:23; Eph. 4:1-5; 1 Cor. 12:12; Eph. 5:23; Eph. 1:22-23). Fellowship vs. Personal Relationship series I want to note a solid thought before we go any deeper. This study will shake the foundation of many on the idea of acceptance and comradery with those who are imprisoned in sin. That being said, lets note the definition one more time. Fellowship is a companionship, familiar interaction, sharing having or giving a share in the Kingdom with the Godhead and the body as we are in a cooperate partnership together in Christ Jesus that by our association together we have a mutual aim and interest. Those who keep His commandments are the only ones that God will have companionship, sharing having, or giving a sharing in Him. Fellowship vs. Personal Relationship Series Fellowship with the Holy Spirit “Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.” Phil. 2:1-2 We can also have fellowship with the Spirit. How? Well, let’s look quickly before we close our study of fellowship with the Godhead. We are not of flesh but of the Spirit. That the Spirit dwells in us and if any one does not have the Spirit then he does not belong to Christ ( Rm. 8:9 ). 1 Cor. 3:16 lets us know we are the temple of God and the Spirit of God dwells in us. We are in communion with the Spirit ( 2 Cor. 13:14 ).  Fellowship vs. Personal Relationship Series     Fellowship with Christ "God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord." 1 Cor. 1:9                   In accordance with the definition of fellowship, can we have fellowship with Christ? Yes ( John 14:20-23 ). Again, this fellowship is contingent on you and me keeping His commandments ( John 14:21; Matt. 28:20; Heb. 5:9; 1 John 2:6 ).   Although many want to argue that it is a relationship we are to have with Christ. Do you spend more time watching T.V. than you do studying the word? Do you sometimes struggle engaging in the preaching you hear? Does the preaching just seem to drab or slow? I have heard many say that so and so ’s preaching needs some spice. That they want something that's going to move them. Something thing that's just really exciting etc. Have you thought that yourself? Why is it so different for us? Our parents and grandparents didn't have that issue. There are countless studies that show the ill effects of such things. T.V. addiction is one of them. Many people have it and don’t even know it.
